Purpose

The Appeals & Disciplinary Committee provides independent, fair and timely resolution of academic appeals, conduct cases and formal grievances.

Key responsibilities

  • Hear academic appeals against assessment decisions and progression outcomes.
  • Determine cases of alleged academic misconduct and student disciplinary breaches.
  • Review staff grievances escalated under University procedures.
  • Recommend policy improvements arising from casework trends.

Composition

An independent Chair, trained academic and professional service panel members, with a student member for student-facing cases.

Meets

As required, normally within four weeks of a referral.
